  • MTC Rewards Program Overview

MTC Rewards (“MTC Rewards” or “Program”) is a loyalty program which is operated by MB Cinematic Limited, NZBN 9429050175758. By enrolling and participating in the Program, you agree that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions and are bound by them. You consent to MTC collecting, using, and disclosing your personal information in accordance with the MTC Privacy Policy available to view HERE

MTC/MB Cinematic Limited reserves the right to amend, alter, withdraw, or terminate the Program, any feature or benefit (“Benefits”) or the Terms and Conditions of the program at any time, subject to applicable law. Any such change may affect Benefits, which may have accumulated, as well as any future Benefits. Benefits of the Program are offered at the sole discretion of MTC/MB Cinematic Limited.

  1. Defined Terms

Activation Date:

The commencement date for your MTC Rewards membership, also known as the Join Date.


The date the MTC Rewards Membership started or the date which paid membership commenced.


Those features of the program that provide members with access to discounted movie tickets, special events and competitions, which may change from time to time.

MTC Rewards / Program:

The loyalty program which is operated by MTC/MB Cinematic Limited and provides benefits to its members when they visit MTC Mercury Twin Cinemas Whitianga.

Member, Members or Membership:

A person who holds a current and active MTC Rewards membership.

Other Benefits:

Other promotions and special Benefits which may be offered to you from time to time.


The MTC Rewards level is selected by the member as part of their membership, which defines which benefits they are entitled to.


  1. Joining MTC Rewards

Customers can join the MTC Rewards program by completing the signup process in cinema, or online at

MTC Individual Rewards level is offered for $20 per annum ($15 renewal) and provides immediate access to loyalty tickets which are at a reduced price. (1 loyalty ticket per session per member)

MTC Family Rewards level is offered for $30 per annum ($20 renewal) and provides immediate access to loyalty tickets at a reduced price (up to 2 adult loyalty tickets and 2 children loyalty tickets per session)

  1. Participation in the Program

MTC Rewards Membership (Member) and Benefits are available at,  or through point of sale at MTC- Mercury Twin Cinemas Whitianga 

A Member may not gain Benefits from activities or purchases undertaken on behalf of a business. To participate in the Program, you must have a valid e-mail address. MTC Rewards Memberships are valid for 12 months and must be renewed annually, with payment of the applicable annual fee. Members who do not pay their renewal fee by the due date will not be eligible for the benefits of membership.

MTC Rewards Membership and Benefits are not transferable, not redeemable for cash and are non-refundable. Membership can be revoked by MTC/MB Cinematic Limited at any time, in its sole discretion and without compensation, for any reason including but not limited to abuse or breach of any of the Terms and Conditions of the Program, any actions deemed by MTC/MB Cinematic Limited to be contrary to MTC, the Program or the interests of its Members or partners or in the case of fraud or misuse.

To the extent permitted by law, MTC/MB Cinematic Limi assumes no liability whatsoever, for any expense, loss, cost, injury, damage, accident or any other matter however suffered or caused (including compensatory, incidental, indirect, special, punitive, consequential or exemplary damages or damages for loss of income or profits), directly or indirectly arising out of or related to the Program or by reason of the termination of or amendment to the Program in whole or in part, the value or availability of Benefits, or the addition or deletion of Benefits, reward partners or other features.

Neither MTC/MB Cinematic Limited nor its respective officers, agents or employees shall be responsible for any failure of the website or for any problems or technical malfunction of a telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail, online or Internet entry, technical problems, traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to any computer or property related to or resulting from participating in or downloading any material relating to the Program. MTC/MB Cinematic Limited reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this Program should a virus, bug or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of MTC/MB Cinematic Limited corrupt the security or proper administration of the Program.

Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of the Program may be a criminal offence and should such an attempt be made, MTC/MB Cinematic reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law and lead to criminal prosecution.

  1. Membership Enrolment and Activation

To enrol in the Program, Members must sign up to the MTC Rewards Member level MTC-Mercury Twin Cinemas Whitianga or online through and pay the annual fee.

Members must provide a valid email address and create a unique password when joining MTC Rewards.These details will be used to log into a Members online account. Members are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of their password. MTC/MB Cinematic Limited takes no responsibility for any loss arising from unauthorised use of a Member’s password or a Member’s failure to comply with these provisions. MTC Rewards Membership cards are not transferable and remain the property of MTC/MB Cinematic Limited.

  1. Renewing Membership

MTC Rewards Membership has an annual fee. If you fail to make payment of the annual fee by the due date, Membership will cease and you will no longer be able to access loyalty tickets/member events/competitions. 

  1. Marketing, Promotions and Personal Information

By enrolling in the Program, Members will be automatically enrolled into and consent to, receiving electronic messages and marketing communications from MTC/MB Cinematic Limited (Weekly schedule newsletter/competitions/special offers)

  1. Membership Benefits

Benefits are only available at MTC - Mercury Twin Cinemas Whitianga. Benefits are for personal use only and cannot be assigned, traded, or transferred without the prior written consent of MTC/MB Cinematic or otherwise in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the Program. Any assignment or transfer in violation of these rules will be void and may, at the sole discretion of MTC/MB Cinematic Limited, result in the loss of Membership or the cancellation of the affected Benefits or Account.

Benefits available to Members as part of the program include:

Loyalty Tickets

Members on the MTC Individual Rewards Member level will be able to purchase one loyalty ticket per session when the Membership Card is produced prior to payment or the membership number is used when booking online.

Members on the MTC Family Rewards level will be able to purchase up to two Adult tickets and 2 children’s loyalty tickets per session when the Membership Card is presented prior to payment or the membership number is used when booking online.

Birthday Reward

Members who have supplied a valid date of birth and added it to their Member profile and present their Membership card number at MTC on their birthday or within 30 days from their birthday, will receive a birthday reward on presentation of the registered physical card.

Birthday Rewards are supplied once per calendar year and once redeemed cannot be redeemed again for 12 months, even if a Member updates or alters their date of birth. Birthday rewards are applied automatically to a Members account on their stated birthday and will be valid for 30 days. Birthday reward includes a choice of either one (1) medium popcorn or one (1) Choc-top ice cream.

Birthday Rewards cannot be redeemed for cash or credit, are not transferrable, cannot be backdated and cannot be extended. If the benefit is not redeemed within the specified time frame, it is forfeited. 

Special Event Member Pricing

Members wishing to attend a special event will be able to access a discounted event ticket when a MTC Rewards membership number is included in the transaction.

  1. Application of benefits

Benefits will not be applied if a Member does not present their personal valid MTC Rewards Membership card or supply their unique MTC Rewards Membership Number before the completion of the purchase or transaction. It is the Members’ responsibility to remember to present their MTC Rewards Membership card or supply their unique MTC Rewards Account Number. MTC is in no way responsible or liable if Members do not do so before the completion of the transaction.  Any unauthorised reproduction of an MTC Rewards Membership card may lead to exclusion from the Program and may be reported to police.

MTC, and its respective officers, agents, employees, and related bodies corporate may refuse to record or honour Benefits in a Member’s Account, or if already recorded, may cancel such Benefits, if MTC cannot confirm that the MTC Rewards Membership card was not properly issued or obtained.

  1. Competitions

MTC may also from time to time make available to Member’s promotions and competitions (collectively, “Competitions”). Where applicable, Members may enter Competitions by meeting the entry criteria specified on each Competition. We may publish names of winners of Competition prizes.

Each Competition will be subject to any individual terms and conditions specified on the Website. However, some of the standard terms and conditions are as follows:

Awards and prizes must be taken intact as offered and are not transferable, exchange able or redeemable for cash;

If a person otherwise entitled to an award or prize is under the age 18, we reserve the right to instead give the award or prize to that person’s parent or guardian; and

If an award or prize is unavailable for any reason, we reserve the right to substitute an award or prize of equal or greater value.

  1. Lost, stolen, or damaged Membership cards

Lost or stolen cards should be reported immediately by notifying the MTC team.  When MTC is made aware of a lost or stolen MTC Rewards Membership card, it will flag the card as lost or stolen and the associated account rendered inactive.

MTC is not responsible for any redemption made by a third party using lost or stolen Membership details in cinema or online. Members can collect a replacement card from MTC - Mercury Twin Cinemas upon paying a $2 card replacement fee. A card replacement fee will be payable for all card replacements or card re-issue requests.  

  1. Privacy

MTC/MB Cinematic Limited and its respective officers, agents, employees, and related bodies corporate (collectively, “we” or “our”) are committed to protecting your privacy. We collect your personal information for the following purposes to:

Set up and administer the Program including ongoing management of Accounts

Process and issue Benefits;

Allow Members to participate in promotions and competitions;

Communicate with Members, to deliver a e-newsletters

MTC will obtain consent before using personal information for a purpose that has not been specified unless the new purpose is required by law.  

  1. Changes to these Terms and Conditions

MTC/MB Cinematic Limitied may change these Terms and Conditions, any aspect of the Program including redemption procedures or any Benefits under the Program or rewards in any respect and will communicate significant changes to customers. Where MTC/MB Cinematic Limited changes these Terms and Conditions, or any Benefits, an updated copy of these Terms and Conditions will be available on the MTC website. Members should regularly check for updates to the Terms and Conditions. MTC/MB Cinematic Limited reserves the right to suspend or terminate these Terms and Conditions at any time, subject to compliance with applicable laws.

  1. General

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and MTC/MB Cinematic Limited, your participation in the Program and your entitlement to any other Benefits of the Program and supersede all previous versions. Except as expressly contained in these Terms and Conditions, there are no conditions, representations, warranties, express or implied, statutory, or otherwise.  

  1. Privacy and Consents

MTC/MB Cinematic Limited Fair Go Policy

  1. Fair Go Policy

The purpose of our Fair Go Policy is to ensure that all our Members:

Can access our services and Benefits; and

Do not use our services or Benefits in a manner that we consider 'unreasonable' or 'unacceptable'.

In addition, the Fair Go Policy sets out your responsibilities when you use our services and Benefits and confirms the steps, we may take to monitor compliance with this policy. The Fair Go Policy applies to all our services and Benefits.


  1. General

If you are a MTC Rewards member you may not use the service or Benefit in a manner which is 'unreasonable' or 'unacceptable'.


  1. Unreasonable Use

We consider your use of the service or Benefit unreasonable if you use it in a manner which is other than it was intended for. Examples of uses which we consider 'unreasonable' include if you:


Are using the service / Benefit for fraudulent purposes

Have abnormal or excessive use of the services / Benefits

Are using the Benefits for more than personal use (eg lending your card to friends or family)


  1. Unacceptable use

You may not use our services or Benefits in any manner which improperly interferes with another person's use of our services or Benefits or for illegal or unlawful purposes. Examples of uses which we consider 'unacceptable' include:

If you provide us with false user information to use the service

Contravening any applicable laws when you use the service

Infringing any person's intellectual property rights, including copyright, when you use the service

If you are using the Benefits for more than personal use


  1. Monitoring Compliance

We may from time to time monitor your use of our services and Benefits to ensure you are complying with the terms of this policy.  We may need to disclose any findings as required to regulatory authorities.


  1. Breach of the Fair Go Policy

If you breach any part of this Fair Go Policy, we will contact you and, if appropriate, ask you to modify your use of the service and / or Benefit. If you do not modify your use of the service and or Benefit, we may suspend or cancel your service to you. We reserve the right to suspend or cancel your Membership immediately and without any compensation or refund of fees, subject to your rights under the applicable law.
